We can help you keep your home improvements on schedule and within budget!
We all remember how challenging it was to find the right home, but nothing’s too good for our families! We all started out with plenty of “must haves” for our ideal home, but the reality is that we’re often limited by our budgets or what’s available for sale in our market. No one wants to compromise when buying a new home, but sometimes it makes more sense to invest in a “handyman’s special” and upgrade as your budget allows. The good news is that there are plenty of surprisingly affordable home upgrades that can be completed in a week or less, and our team at Gary Houston Electric is here to help!
We’ve been Arkansas’ most trusted residential electrician since 1978 and proudly offer emergency electrical service in Little Rock 24 hours a day. We also offer in-home energy efficiency audits to help you lower your bills, and we love helping with home improvement projects! Creativity will always be more important than money when it comes to home upgrades, but you should also understand your limitations. DIY projects are often more expensive than you think, particularly if you have to hire a contractor later to fix your mistakes. There’s no shame in hiring a pro, and we’ll ensure that the job is done right from the very beginning! Here are three ideas to get you started, and we’re always a phone call away if you have any additional questions:
Have your home wiring professionally inspected. Your home wiring should be inspected every 25 years or sooner if your lights flicker or your breakers trip frequently.
Upgrade to smart lighting. Smart LED bulbs enable you to adjust the brightness and color of your household lights using your smartphone or mobile device, and they use a fraction of the wattage of conventional bulbs!
Add more electrical outlets! If your home was built before 1969, your home might still have a few two-prong plugs, which are easy and inexpensive to replace. And while you’re at it, install some additional electrical outlets in your home office, living room, and other high-traffic areas. You can finally put away all those unsightly power strips, and newer electrical outlets also include built-in surge protection and USB charging ports!
