Replace older appliances-Your HVAC system and hot water heater have a limited lifespan, but many units continue to operate for many more years. Install a Programmable Thermostat-A programmable thermostat can save you 10% or more on your electricity bill, and the newer smart thermostat models couldn’t be easier to use. Most models can now be set remotely using your smartphone or mobile device, and they’ll even provide you energy usage reports to help you and your family monitor your usage.
