An electrical safety inspection is a great way to enjoy true peace of mind at home!

Gary Houston Electric has been providing trusted electrical service in Little Rock since 1978, and we offer service around the clock. Your first call should always be to 911 in the event of any serious emergency, and we can help you with any necessary repairs after power is restored and you’ve received the “all clear” from your utility providers. The good news is that most electrical emergencies are preventable, and we’re always a phone call away whenever you’d like to schedule an in-home safety inspection!
Most electrical safety issues are inexpensive to resolve, and we can also help you find easy ways to lower your energy bills! Your home wiring should be professionally inspected at least every 25 years, or sooner if you’re unsure when it was last inspected. You should also call an electrician right away if your lights flicker or if your circuit breakers trip frequently.
If your home was constructed prior to 1969, you might still have a few ungrounded two-prong outlets remaining in your home. It’s unsafe to use “cheater plugs” to plug three-pronged devices into ungrounded outlets, but easy and inexpensive to replace obsolete outlets. And if you find yourself relying on power strips to plug in all your electronic devices, we can install additional outlets with built-in surge protectors and USB charging ports. You should also install ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) outlets in your kitchen, bathrooms, and outdoors. In the event of even the tiniest water-related circuit overload, the GFCI interrupts power faster than the blink of an eye to keep you and your family safe!
Finally, it’s never too early to start teaching your children the importance of electrical safety. Young children (particularly toddlers) love to explore, so make sure they understand the dangers of inserting their fingers or other objects into outlets and use outlet covers when nothing’s plugged in. And when your kids are old enough for their own electronic devices, be sure they know how to plug them in safely!
